Renewing 200k+ Acres of Coalition Members/Third Time in 15 years!
Greetings, Fellow Coalition Members!
We at the Dakota Line Mineral Coalition (DLMC) wanted to give you a quick update on what we have been up to this year. The process continues to gain momentum. We are currently renewing our membership of 200k+ acres! This is the THIRD time in the past fifteen years that we have achieved this! Thus far, we have hosted membership information meetings during the Spring and Summer. During these meetings, we educate new members about the benefits they stand to gain by signing the DLMC Coalition Agreement.
Also, the Dakota Tea Management (DTM) Oil & Gas lease was created to increase and extend conditions and ownership protections. Current coalition members requested these protections and conditions, and the DLMC & DTM subsequently verified them through legal review of current U.S. oil field practices (leases using the Market Product Doctrine). This means the document is always under review, subject to adjustments in response to evolving market conditions. The DTM Oil & Gas Lease does not abide by the Market Product Doctrine, which the U.S. Oil Industry has used for the past 150+ years.
For those undecided whether to enroll, here is additional background information. DLMC represents coalition landowners in Sioux County, ND, Corson County, SD, Dewey County, SD, Ziebach County, SD (“SCDZ”), Perkins County, SD & Grant County, ND, or other lessors of real estate tracts in other counties in North and South Dakota that produce oil, gas, hydrocarbons, and minerals (“Extraction Products”). DLMC exclusively represents its members’ interests in dealings with federal and state government agencies responsible for regulating oil, gas, mineral, and energy exploration in North and South Dakota. Local landowners created the coalition in 2011, making it 15 years old!
Coalition leadership has maintained family relationships with local landowners for over 100 years. During this renewal period, new members can join and participate. This is a great time to get involved! Protect yourself from predatory speculators who will convince you to sign leases that follow 150-year-old oil industry practices, paying you pennies on the dollar and leaving you with no income should there be a downturn in the oil and gas market (*see footnote below).
Protect your family’s birthright. The DLMC does not purchase Mineral Rights from an owner, ever. We strongly suggest that you not sell your Mineral Rights. Property taxes are only collected on surface rights/surface property.
We look forward to seeing you at our next membership meeting!
*The U.S. Oil Industry shuts down producing oil and gas fields when the price of a barrel of oil falls below a certain price point per barrel.
